Collingwood School – Winter Weather Response Exercise
Ally strengthened Collingwood School’s emergency program through a scenario-driven exercise focused on winter weather impacts.

Collingwood School, committed to student and staff safety, sought to validate its existing Emergency Management Program against the challenges posed by severe winter weather events in the Lower Mainland. The school desired an opportunity to refine coordination procedures and reinforce familiarity with the Incident Command System (ICS). This engagement aimed to enhance their ability to respond effectively to a sudden building access disruption.
Ally facilitated a Tabletop Exercise simulating a significant snowfall event that isolated students and staff within Collingwood School’s facilities. Prior to the exercise, Ally delivered two half-day refresher courses on ICS principles for key personnel. The exercise focused on procedural application of their existing Emergency Plan.
The exercise successfully reinforced internal coordination protocols and expanded engagement across Collingwood School's Emergency Management team. Participants demonstrated a strengthened understanding of roles and responsibilities within an Incident Command structure, improving the school’s overall preparedness for winter weather events. This activity contributed to a more robust and practiced emergency response capability.
