UBC Full-Scale Exercise
Ally supported the University of British Columbia in a full-scale exercise to validate its emergency response framework for a mass casualty incident.
The University of British Columbia proactively sought to strengthen its existing comprehensive emergency management program through a realistic, large-scale simulation. UBC aimed to test interagency coordination and refine operational procedures under pressure. The exercise focused on validating plans for site evacuation, medical response, traffic control, and crisis communications.
Ally designed and delivered a full-scale exercise simulating an intentional vehicle attack resulting in mass casualties. This live exercise activated UBC’s emergency response framework, bringing together university personnel with external partners including the RCMP, Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services, and the BC Coroners Service. The scenario provided a dynamic environment for participants to practice coordinated responses.
The exercise successfully validated UBC’s emergency plans and strengthened interagency coordination capabilities. Participants gained valuable experience in managing a complex, high-pressure incident, enhancing overall preparedness for large-scale emergencies. This engagement reinforced UBC's commitment to campus safety and resilience.
