In May 2024, Ally led an insightful Tabletop Exercise (TTX) for Westshore Terminals designed to simulate real-world emergency scenarios. The exercise featured three distinct scenarios, each focusing on potential worker injuries aboard a vessel docked at the terminal. The primary goal was to fine-tune response procedures and enhance inter-agency coordination in the face of such emergencies.
Several external agencies participated in the TTX including Paladin Security, Delta Fire and Emergency Services (DFES), the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority, and Jacobs – a contracted construction company working on site. Participation by these entities was critical to successfully meeting exercise objectives.
Participants were led through a series of discussions, enabling them to identify and articulate their proposed responses. This collaborative process highlights areas for improvement and also underscores the existing strengths in their emergency response strategies. By identifying gaps and refining their approach, Westshore Terminals continues to build a resilient emergency management program.
We are proud to support Westshore with regular training, drills, and exercises, reinforcing their readiness for a diverse range of emergencies. This ongoing commitment ensures that their team is well-prepared to tackle any situation that may arise.
