Case Study: UBC Exercise Run Down
Full-Scale Exercise
The University of British Columbia (UBC) engaged Ally in 2018 to design and deliver a full-scale exercise simulating the response to an intentional vehicle attack resulting in a mass casualty incident. The exercise activated UBC’s emergency response framework and brought together university personnel and external response partners, including the RCMP, Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services, and the BC Coroners Service.
This live, multi-agency exercise enabled participants to practice site evacuation, medical response, traffic management, and crisis communications in a dynamic, high-pressure environment. The exercise helped validate emergency plans, strengthen interagency coordination, and identify opportunities to enhance preparedness for future large-scale emergencies.
