FortisBC

Full-scale Exercise 

FortisBC organized a Full-scale Exercise on Thursday, September 22, 2022, concerning the Sun Peaks Resort propane plant. The exercise simulated a scenario where a truck collided with one of the propane tanks, leading to an uncontrolled release.

In preparation for the exercise, Ally assisted the Emergency Management team conduct a thorough review of the Incident Command System and the Sun Peaks Emergency Response Plan with participants.

The primary objective of the exercise was to effectively respond to an Emergency Response Plan  activation, ensuring compliance with Environment Canada’s regulatory requirements. Additionally, it aimed to identify areas for enhancing inter-agency response capabilities.

  • Municipality of Sun Peaks
