Murray MacAulay

Senior Associate

Background

Murray’s career is diverse, spanning nearly 35 years of operational policing with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. His final tenure as the Vancouver International Airport police commander showcased his leadership abilities during 11 years in that role. As a part of this role Murray served as the Chair of the Canadian Airport Police Commander’s Association, organizing numerous conferences, and travelling internationally.

Murray’s specialization in airport emergency exercise training, particularly in security and police response protocols, demonstrates his commitment to preparedness and safety within high-stakes environments. He is accredited in the Incident Command Systems at the 400 level, reflecting his proficiency in managing large-scale emergencies. 

Beyond airport policing, Murray’s career includes significant roles with the Emergency Response Team (ERT/SWAT), First Nations Policing, Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) as well as a Human Resources Advisor within the RCMP. This breadth of experience speaks to his adaptability and versatility as a law enforcement professional. 

Murray also holds a BA in Urban Geography from Wilfrid Laurier University (’83).
